Meet the 2022 Women in Content Marketing Awards Winners

We’re thrilled to introduce you to the winners of the 2022 Women in Content Marketing Awards (WICMAs). Now in their fourth year, the Women in Content Marketing Awards celebrate incredible women across all levels and specialties who are defining the content marketing industry and creating a lasting impact through their leadership.

The Women in Content Marketing Awards honor women across five categories: Content Marketer of the Year, Marketing Leader of the Year, Rising Star, Pivot, and Freelance Excellence.

As you’ll see, these women have forged new paths for their brands, clients, and the industry at large. They each bring a thoughtful and innovative approach to their work, and we’re thrilled to celebrate their accomplishments.

The Women in Content Marketing Awards are presented by Masthead Media, a full-service content marketing company founded and led by women, in partnership with the Content Marketing Institute (CMI).

WICMA Content Marketer of the Year

Megan Gilbert

Vice President

FORTUNE Brand Studio, Fortune Media

Megan Gilbert is the Vice President of the FORTUNE Brand Studio, an award-winning division of Fortune Media. She drives the editorial direction, strategy, and production of all branded content, co-leading the creative studio team in digital, audio, video, social, and print storytelling for high-profile clients such as Salesforce, PayPal, Zurich Insurance, AWS, Boston Consulting Group, and Target.

Gilbert’s varied and lengthy career in branded content includes positions at VICE Media, Gawker Media, Fusion Media, The Washington Post, and Slate. She is a graduate of Boston University and earned her M.F.A. in creative nonfiction writing from Sarah Lawrence College.

Madeline Haller

Associate Director of Content

Hims & Hers

Madeline Haller is the Associate Director of Content at Hims & Hers. She has spent the majority of her career working in digital media, which brought her to New York City. She has over 10 years of experience in digital content, specializing in creative social strategy and storytelling, as well as writing and editing. She attended Indiana University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When Haller isn’t scouring the internet for new social trends, you can find her running around Brooklyn (literally), trying every new restaurant that pops up, and most importantly, spoiling her two cats, who are the definition of perfection.

Jennifer Kroog Rosenberg

Vice President of Marketing Communications

The Honest Company

Jennifer Kroog Rosenberg is The Honest Company’s Vice President of Marketing Communications. As the head of the communications team, she oversees both internal and external communications, including public relations, influencer relations, social media, investor relations, and events. She has been in the Honest family for more than 10 years, serving in various roles across the marketing function prior to assuming her current role.

Kroog Rosenberg is a 2021 Silver Stevie Award winner for the corporate communications and investor relations categories. Prior to joining Honest, she held marketing roles at Juicy Couture and Kooba Handbags. She is a founding member of Chief, a private network designed specifically for women leaders, and has served as a mentor for the University of Michigan’s optiMize Social Innovation Program.

Jennifer Martin

Senior Content & Social Media Marketing Manager

Sony Electronics

Jennifer Martin is the Senior Content & Social Media Marketing Manager at Sony Electronics. In her role, she expertly leads the brand’s social media activations, original content creation, and more.

Throughout her 15-year career at Sony Electronics, Martin has effectively established the brand’s presence across social media platforms, personally leading numerous company-wide creative and content marketing initiatives. From improving customer engagement to driving influencer marketing activations, her work has proven critical to helping move the brand forward on digital and across a variety of social media platforms.

When not working, Martin enjoys spending time painting and planning her next adventure with her husband and kids.

Mallory Russell

Head of Global Content Marketing

Mallory Russell is the Head of Global Content Marketing for Square, overseeing content marketing strategy as well as Square’s editorial, social media, SEO, web strategy, and lead lifecycle functions. In her role, she builds content experiences and journeys that educate and inspire businesses of all sizes and help grow the brand and the business. Russell previously led content marketing at Change.org, where she used social and editorial channels to tell stories of people making change all over the world.

Before working in tech, Russell reported on the world of marketing at Advertising Age and Business Insider and worked at some of San Francisco’s most storied ad agencies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in business and economic journalism from New York University.

Amanda Todorovich

Executive Director

Content Marketing, Cleveland Clinic

Amanda Todorovich is the Executive Director of Content Marketing at Cleveland Clinic, responsible for growing the most-visited hospital blog from zero to more than 13 million sessions per month and establishing it as a revenue-generating publishing entity. Leading one of the most successful content marketing teams in the country, Todorovich was inducted in 2019 into the Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame — Innovative Individuals.

Her other honors include the 2020 Women in Content Marketing General Excellence Award, being named the 2016 Content Marketer of the Year by CMI, member of Marketo’s 2018 inaugural Fearless 50, finalist for 2017 Boldest Healthcare Brand Marketer, and 2015 Direct Marketing News 40 Under 40 honoree. Before joining Cleveland Clinic in 2013, Todorovich co-founded MedCity News, serving as the company’s Chief Content Officer.

Jessica Bergmann

Jessica Bergmann is Vice President, Content & Customer Marketing at Salesforce. Jessica’s team oversees Salesforce’s global brand content and its media products, including The 360 Blog, Vantage Point magazine, and Salesforce+, the first digital streaming service for business. The team was recently awarded CMI’s Project of the Year for the series Leading through Change.

Named 2021 B2B Content Marketer of the Year by CMI, Bergmann is a marketer known for rallying global teams around content strategy. She also spearheaded the Salesforce #TeamEarth campaign, as kicked off during February’s Super Bowl ad starring Matthew McConaughey, and launched the “Wow But How” campaign to bring how-to content to every corner of Salesforce. Prior to Salesforce, Bergmann led global content development for brands like Dove, Adidas, HEAD, Porsche, and Rolex.

Michelle Boockoff-Bajdek

Michelle Boockoff-Bajdek is Chief Marketing Officer at Skillsoft. As CMO, she leads Skillsoft’s global marketing. With more than 25 years of experience, she’s on a personal mission to support women’s advancement in business. Prior to Skillsoft, Boockoff-Bajdek served as CMO of IBM Watson and the global head of marketing for The Weather Company.

A prolific speaker and podcast host, she’s authored countless papers, championed DEI through free “Leadercamps,” and taught courses on the Pink Pandemic and Public Speaking. Boockoff-Bajdek is currently a driving force as Skillsoft becomes an industry leader in sustainability and corporate responsibility.

She is also a founding member of CMO Huddles and holds a master’s degree from Simmons University.

Lindsay Kaplan

Rachel Thornton

Rachel Thornton is Chief Marketing Officer at MessageBird. Prior to joining MessageBird, she was CMO for Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud offering. In her role, Thornton owned all aspects of marketing for AWS, including content marketing, product marketing, field and partner marketing, customer acquisition and customer segment marketing, developer relations, global events, and executive engagement strategy and programs.

Prior to Amazon, Thornton held a number of leadership positions at a variety of technology companies, including Salesforce, Cisco Systems, and Microsoft. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s in international business and management from the University of Arizona’s Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Naba Ahmed is a Content Editor at Prezi, and a marketer and virtual speaker who is passionate about helping her audience find their authentic stories. Ahmed is a leader at the intersection of content and tech, combining her experience in journalism and marketing to create memorable content. In her role at Prezi, she shares storytelling tips that can be used to deliver stronger presentations.

Ahmed’s passion for storytelling stems from her prior roles in newsrooms and in content marketing which informs her keynotes about storytelling principles. She has spoken at a wide range of organizations, including Fortune 100 companies, tech firms, and nonprofit organizations.

Jennifer Billingham

Jennifer Billingham is a content marketing and social media specialist at Kiddie Academy. In her role, she directs creative social campaigns and coordinates public relations efforts.

Billingham has a passion for creative storytelling, digital connection, and empowering women through unlocking their personal style. She made the transition into content marketing by developing a fashion blog during the pandemic. This “side hustle” turned into what is now a successful business that reaches millions of women per month.

Kristina Arsenian

She is a Harvard-educated marketing professional, entrepreneur, and published author with more than 10 years of communications and business development and management experience. Arsenian’s areas of expertise include content marketing, product merchandising, branding, advertising and PR, journalism, and law. She received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Howard University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Arsenian is the Director of Content Marketing at SADA, a premier cloud solutions provider specializing in technology consulting, IT services, application development, and managed services. In her role at SADA, she leads the company’s content marketing strategy, facilitates ongoing content planning, and manages day-to-day content creation. Arsenian leverages the content she produces to maximize SADA’s joint marketing efforts with Google Cloud and educate organizations that are seeking digital transformation.

Samantha Lefave

Samantha Lefave is a Content Marketing Manager at Evolve, a hospitality company with a mission to make renting a vacation home easy for everyone. As a magazine writer and editor turned content marketer and SEO strategist, she oversees Evolve’s content strategy and development, as well as on-page SEO efforts for both B2B and B2C sides of the business.

In previous roles, Lefave managed editorial teams and developed content for high-traffic fitness, travel, and lifestyle sites, including SEO-driven features, news, videos, emails, and more to reach millions of readers. She has held staff positions at Runner’s World, Redbook, and Fitness. Lefave knows what people search for and share, what inspires them, and what converts them. Stephanie Wong

Stephanie Wong is Head of Developer Engagement at Google. As the first person to hold this role, Wong (a creator and engineer), has amassed a growing audience of developers, IT executives, and startup founders. She has written, produced, and hosted more than 500 videos, articles, podcasts, and tutorials, garnering over 10 million views, and is the host of the GCP Podcast and a keynote speaker.

Wong taps into the technical community with bold and refreshing takes, dismantling ego by inspiring and educating engineers in new ways. She also expands Google Cloud’s reach to women and people of color. In 2021 and 2022, Wong set records by earning three Webby Awards for Google Cloud. As a leader and a woman in tech — and also Miss Asian North America 2020 — Wong regularly coaches women across the industry and amplifies AAPI voices.
